Virtual shadows function as a means for virtual objects to gain a presence in the real-world MR experience. Conversely, what if we were to erase the shadows of people and objects that already exist in reality? Many creators have likely considered this theme in the past. However, while it can be expressed in literature and film, making it a tangible, real-world experience has been challenging. In this work, we at- tempted to construct the strange experience of ”losing shadows” by leveraging the visual and auditory effects of the latest standalone Video see-through MR technology, combined with haptic stimuli to create a multimodal experience.
