This work is a VR earthquake experience demonstration that allows experiencers to experience a huge earthquake in a traditional architectural village in Bhutan. It was produced as part of disaster mitigation education in the project ‘Project for Evaluation and Mitigation of Seismic Risk for Composite Masonry Buildings in Bhutan.’ Using an experimental shaking table in an earthquake-proof experimental facility built in Thimphu, the capital of Bhutan, experiencers can experience actual shaking synchronised with the VR earthquake. Furthermore, two Meta Quest2 VR headsets were employed in this work, one for the VR earthquake experience and the other for tracking the synchronisation between the shaking table and the VR earthquake.
